Candace Law is an award-winning encaustic mixed-media artist. Much of her current work blends an interest in the decayed industrial age and man-made objects with the abstract—as expressed through drawing, found objects, mixed media and encaustic. She has exhibited in several solo shows, as well as numerous regional and national exhibitions—both invitational and juried competitions. Expand Your Art With Encaustic! Join artists Candace Law and Melissa Porter on Saturday and Sunday, November 16-17 for a two-day encaustic assemblage workshop. It will focus on an exploration of the 3-dimensional technique of using found objects and how encaustic can enhance creating assemblages. Some experience working with encaustic would be helpful.
Saturday will start off with a talk by assemblage/collage artist Melissa Porter, a look at her intriguing work, and how she creates it. Along with demonstrations, we'll review some basic tools and simple mechanical ways to attach objects to panels and other surfaces. Then we'll work through a couple of small projects as we incorporate encaustic into our work. As always, you'll have ample individual work time.
The equipment, supplies, and many materials needed for the workshop are provided. However, you will want to bring your own found objects and various small items and ephemera to incorporate into your artwork.

Use the "Register" button above to enroll in the workshop. You may pay by credit card or mail a check. Your registration is not final until payment is received. Space is limited and filling fast, so don't wait to enroll!
Workshops are subject to cancellation because of insufficient enrollment or for other reasons. If a workshop is canceled, you will have the option to receive a full refund or transfer your registration to another scheduled workshop.
