Empowering Young Hearts - Journey to Healing's Youth Camp

We invite you to join us for our first-ever Empowering Young Hearts Grief Support Camp hosted by Journey to Healing, where children can find solace, connection, and healing. We provide an emotionally safe space for youth to process their experiences and emotions associated with grief and loss. We envision a community where individuals and families find solace and strength in their journey of healing, where compassion and understanding guide every step toward recovery.

Camp Details: Youth 7 to 13 years old

Elementary School Age (7-9):

Date: July 8 - July 12, 2024

Days: Monday - Friday

Time: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Middle School Age (10-13):

Date: July 15 - July 19, 2024

Days: Monday - Friday

Time: 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

Camp Activities:

• Express Emotions Through Art and Play Therapy: Children will engage in creative activities to express and process their emotions in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.
• Cultivate Coping Skills: Participants will learn and practice age-appropriate coping mechanisms to help them navigate the challenges of grief.
• Group Therapy Sessions: Tailored to specific age groups, these sessions foster peer connection and understanding.
• Mindfulness and Relaxation Techniques: Activities that promote emotional well-being, reduce stress, and enhance self-awareness.
• Outdoor Activities and Team Building: Encourage a sense of community, trust, and support through engaging outdoor exercises.
• Education on Grief and Healing: Age-appropriate sessions to better understand the grieving process and gain insights into healing.
• Peer Support Networks: Build supportive friendships with peers who have faced similar challenges.
• Celebration of Memories: Activities that celebrate the memories of loved ones, fostering a positive and reflective approach to honoring those no longer physically present.

Registration Information:

• Registration Fee Only: $25 per child ( If you have financial constraints, please email us at therapy@j2hinc.org
• Camp: Free
• Lunch: Provided by parent
• Snacks and water included
• Deadline: Register by June 21, 2024
• Before and Aftercare: Available for a small fee. Details upon request.
