Description In this implicit bias workshop, participants will engage in critical self-reflection and gain tangible strategies for supporting clients who are multiracial/multicultural/mixed. Participants will explore commonly held assumptions and biases about mixed individuals, learn more about what it means to be ‘mixed’ and related challenges, be introduced to approaches to help facilitate better discussions with mixed clients about identity and belonging, and end with introductions to somatic focused treatment and intervention options to help mixed clients develop a stronger sense of self and create a sense of belonging through healthy relationships. Participants will learn through lecture, personal reflection, small group work, and large group discussions. Participants will conclude the workshop by reflecting on key takeaways and plans for integrating their new knowledge and skills into practice.
Sliding scale fee pricing approaches enable folx to access services no matter their financial situation. The scale is centered around the actual cost of a service but also provides payment options above and below the base cost. Ideally, folks with financial security who can pay more for a service elect to pay an amount above the full cost so that folks without financial security are still able access services without risking access to their basic needs. When the sliding scale is used in an equitable way, the cost of services averages to meet the base cost and providers/educators are still paid appropriately for their time and expertise.

Our event registration form asks folks for their accommodation needs. All trainings are held on Zoom w/ auto-captions enabled, copy of power point is provided, and flexibility with camera on/off, bio breaks, participation method encouraged.
Refunds are available up to a week in advance of the event. We offer credit for a future training or asynchronous version of the course (if available) after that.
