Karen Moore’s Poetik Blues: A Sistah’s Story chronicles the” blues”, the sadness, loneliness and pain experienced by black women. Through the mediums of spoken word, prose and original music, we bring to the stage the melancholy emotions as well as the triumphs and victories experienced on our powerful journeys. Our feedback sessions and open forums provide a safe place to reflect and express how we get beyond “the blues” and move forward to our destinies. It is theatrical therapy: unapologetic, uninhibited, and undeniably honest.
