Graduate Women's Virtual Support Group
Black Women Empowered is a monthly group that aims to establish a nurturing community that understands and addresses the unique challenges Black women face as they pursue a degree in higher education. This group provides a platform for black women to connect, freely express their concerns, share experiences, exchange resources, and gain guidance as they navigate their academic and personal lives.

About The Facilitator: Dr. Mitchell is a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor, a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia, a Certified Addictions-Informed Mental Health Professional, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with over 10 years of experience partnering with children, adolescents, adults, and families. With 10 years of experience, Dr. Mitchell’s expertise includes Trauma-related disorders and symptoms, Depression, Anxiety, Anger Management, Domestic Violence, Career and Phase of life changes, Grief and Loss, Life Stressors, Personality Disorders, Substance Abuse Disorders, Self-esteem building skills, and Relationship Challenges.
Dr. Mitchell is the owner of Open Doors to Redefining Therapeutic and Consulting Services, a virtual private practice located in Virginia. At Open Doors Britney offers individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, group therapy, clinical supervision, and trainings.
Dr. Mitchell is also the author of, “30 and Single: Accepting the Now and Not the Forever.” Although married now, Dr. Mitchell continues to share her journey of being single and emphasizes the importance of healing and growing before marriage. She shares with men and women how they can enjoy their season of singleness and become the BEST version of themselves for their future spouses.
