Welcome to Evidence Based Comprehensive Childbirth Education.

At New Birth Company, we believe natural childbirth is an awe-inspiring physical, emotional and spiritual experience. Therefore, our main goal through childbirth education is to encourage mothers to trust their bodies and to train well for the natural processes of labor and birth This class focuses on low intervention natural childbirth in the birth center setting, but families planning a birth in any setting are welcome to attend.

In Childbirth Education we will cover;

  • Preparing your body and mind for birth
  • Signs of labor
  • Stages and phases of labor
  • Comfort measures and pain management
  • Tips for partners
  • Ways to decrease stress, promote relaxation, and increase the odds of natural childbirth.
  • Possible challenges or interventions
  • C reating a birth plan
  • P ostpartum healing
  • P ostpartum mental health + self-care

Your partner/support person is also encouraged to attend. Price for class includes the cost of two people (please only register one participant, one support person is assumed).

There will be a one hour break for lunch.

We will not cover newborn care and breastfeeding in this class- please see our other class options "Newborn Care" and "Preparing for Lactation"

If enrolled in this class the participant can enroll in "The Use of Water in Labor and Birth Class" using a free voucher. Select "Voucher- enrolled in childbirth class" when registering for water class to check out at no cost.

Qualified nursing professionals can earn 6.0 contact hours of Continuing Nurse Education for attending this class. Prior registration for continuing education and additional fee required.

Objectives:

Each participant will demonstrate how to identify labor signs, and stages and phases of labor.

Each participant will verbalize an understanding of how comfort measures work in labor.

Each participant will demonstrate how to decrease stress and promote relaxation in pregnancy, labor and birth.
