About the Emerging Health Leadership Academy:
Established through a collaborative effort between Northeast SD AHEC and Southeast SD AHEC, the Emerging Health Leadership Academy is dedicated to nurturing and enhancing the leadership capabilities within the healthcare workforce. Serving individuals ranging from health profession students to seasoned professionals, the EHL Academy is committed to ensuring access to high-quality education for healthcare professionals across South Dakota.
The mission of the Emerging Health Leadership Academy is to enhance access to leadership training and fortify the leadership capabilities of public health and community health professionals in rural, underserved, and tribal communities in South Dakota. Our aim is to foster improvements in self-advocacy, cultural humility, and overall leadership skills among professionals, especially in professionals in emergency medical services (EMS), federally qualified healthcare centers (FQHC), community health workers (CHW), and mental health.
Leadership Conference Overview:
The in-person leadership conference is designed to empower health professions who are emerging leaders with the essential skills needed to address complex challenges and foster positive outcomes in three critical areas: systems thinking, culture, and power.
