Rolling Stone named EmiSunshine among “10 new country artists you need to know,” but she is more than country; her music is equal parts Americana, bluegrass, blues, rock and gospel. Now 15, Emi has been attracting national attention since the age of nine, appearing on “The Today Show,” “Little Big Shots,” the Grand Ole Opry (14 times) and more. In 2017, she was featured in the GRAMMY-nominated Elvis Presley documentary film “The King,” for which she wrote and performed two original songs. Her new album, “Family Wars,” was produced by legendary Nashville producer Tony Brown, and features collaborations with several leading songwriters and artists, including Jim Lauderdale and The McCrary Sisters. No Depression, the journal of American roots music, says “Family Wars” establishes EmiSunshine as “a strong creative force… bold and talented enough to tackle today’s issues while honoring yesterday’s folk traditions.” The British magazine Country Music People says she “…shows a new maturity on her latest album… really proves how if there’s one young artist out there who’s going to be with us for the long run, EmiSunshine is it.” EmiSunshine is the announced 2019 recipient of The ASCAP Foundation Desmond Child Anthem Award.
