About this event

The Emirates Literature Foundation Book Club is a monthly meet-up focusing on fiction. Book selections vary across genres, helping members explore books outside their usual interests. It also gives readers a chance to enjoy one of the best parts of finishing a book: discussing it with others!

This May, we'll be stepping into Reem Gaafar's 2023 Island Prize winner, 'A Mouth Full of Salt,' as the Sudan-set novel follows the lives of women in a country teetering on the edge of a civil war, while caught in the grips of a mysterious illness and set upon by strange plagues.

Previous selections include more popular fare like R.F. Kuang's 'Babel' and Bonnie Garmus' 'Lessons in Chemistry,' alongside niche favourites like Noor Naga's 'If an Egyptian Cannot Speak English' or Mookie Katigbak-Lacuesta's 'Assembling Alice.'

Is fiction not quite your thing? You can register for our monthly non-fiction book club here.
