<H3>Selection and screening of participating businesses will be made by UGA SBDC. </H3>
This event requires attendance for all four (4) workshops. Class dates:

There are a lot of good reasons to seek contracts for your small business, and business owners who ignore these opportunities are missing out. Even small business owners who are aware of government contracting opportunities find the process intimidating.
In four (4) workshops, Emergent Contractor Academy will show you how to strategically plan your business' growth and prepare you to do business with government and corporations. Then, we’ll show you how to find contracts for bid, and how to put together your application so you have the best possible chance of winning that bid. You'll also learn how to maintain both financial stability and the quality of your services/products as your business grows.

Classes are structured to give you plenty of opportunity to interact with other class members and the presenters. 
This workshop series is a collaborative effort to improve the capacity of small and disadvantaged businesses wanting to pursue contract opportunities in Athens-Clarke County. Specifically, <A HREF="https://www.whyathensga.com" TARGET="_blank" TITLE="ACCEDD" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Athens-Clarke County Unified Government</A>, the <A HREF="http://www.negabusinessalliance.org" TARGET="_blank" TITLE="Northeast Georgia Business Alliance" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Northeast Georgia Business Alliance</A>, <A HREF="https://goodwillng.org/locations/east-athens-store-donation-career-center-30605/" TARGET="_blank" TITLE="Goodwill" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Goodwill</A>, and <A HREF="https://www.georgiasbdc.org/" TARGET="_blank" TITLE="UGA SBDC" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">UGA SBDC</A> are partnering to address access to capital and procurement issues and improve the capacity of these firms.

Do I need to attend all four (4) workshops? 
Yes, students of the Emergent Contractor Academy will need to attend all four (4) workshops. The Academy is carefully planned to help your business be better prepared to pursue contracting opportunities. Lunch will be served at each workshop.

Is Emergent Contractor Academy just for small businesses related to contruction or another specific industry?
No, Emergent Contractor Academy is not industry-specific. <A HREF="https://www.georgiasbdc.org/contractor-academy-athens/" TARGET="_blank" TITLE="Application" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Program topics covered</A> will apply to most small businesses. If you would like to prepare your small business for government and/corporate contracts but do not know how, then these topics will be helpful for you.
