MEET THE PRESENTER:

Shannon Jackson (He/Him/His), Chief of Culture for Hamilton Center helps to establish a progressive vision for the organizational culture that promotes excellence in service. Prior to his current role, Shannon served as the Executive Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for Hamilton Center where he was responsible for leading the implementation of training programs, strategic plans, and organizational initiatives centered around diversity, equity, and inclusion. Shannon serves on the Racial Equity and Leadership Committee of the Indiana Council of Community Mental Health Centers. In addition to his role as Chief of Culture, Shannon Jackson brings an enthusiastic and driven football coaching resume with over 16 years at various collegiate institutions. Shannon Jackson is a graduate of Indiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in criminology and a recent inductee to Indiana State University’s Athletics Hall of Fame.

  1. Define common Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) terms and how each is relevant to you, your organization, and the clients you serve.
  2. Recognize the importance of an inclusive work environment.
  3. Learn how to have more inclusive conversations with coworkers and clients you serve.
  4. Discuss ways to improve Cultural Competency.
  5. Recognize your own biases and the impact it has on decision making both personally and professionally. Develop inclusive leadership skills.
