About this event

This series is an exploration of various aspects of your body through an archetypal and integrative lens. We will explore the ways in which you can listen, express, and navigate positive and negative feelings and experiences while moving toward safe embodiment. Through writing prompts, tarot exploration, sharing, witnessing, signs and symbols, guided and free form movement, and dialogue, you will get to know yourself in ways that have likely been left unexplored in the past.

Take some time to get to know yourself, to witness yourself, to witness another, and integrate your experience in the moment as you deepen your relationship with your body and mind...together.

This group is for individuals who seek healing and connection in their body. Participants should be willing to move, create, witness and be witnessed by another as we explore individually and in pairs what our body wants to express and what our heart and mind wants to feel or say about it. You should be respectful of others, honor space and consent, and be able to participate in a way that makes room for others in addition to yourself. Each voice will be heard, honored, and witnessed.

Participants can expect to explore gentle movements and postures taken from the prompts, to the level of their comfort, in shared space with other participants. Activities may include writing, coloring, movement, sound, discussion/sharing, image exploration, and more, with guidance and prompts from the facilitator. All supplies will be provided. Each session will begin and end in circle, have some time for group sharing, and a soft, guided integration period at the end.

Frequently asked questions

How does one 'embody' tarot?

An example of embodying tarot archetypes or energies: 10 of Swords and then The Empress. Ten of swords is often viewed as a crushing, constricted and stuck energy card, oppressed; they also know that The Empress III is a soft, loving, caring. I.E. moving from low / fetal to upright and grounded.

Is this ADA accessible?

No. There are a few stairs for entry to the building and a lot more stairs to get to the yoga studio where the sessions are held.

What if I can't come to all of these dates?

For group cohesion and best outcomes, I ask that you attend 4/5 out of each 6 (that's 4 or 5 in 3 months). The group energy tends to shift near 6 weeks, where new folks will come and some folks may feel complete or want to continue. This commitment allows you to deepen your explorations and insight.
