Embodied Writing
Welcome to our online event, where we will explore the connections between the body and writing. Join us on Thu May 30 2024 at 09:00-11:00 AM (EST)/6:30-8:30 PM (IST) for a unique experience.
Sourcing from the disciplines of yoga, mindfulness, creative writing, and poetry, 'Embodied Writing' invites you to feel more alive and present in the sensory world. Through generative writing activities, readings, and discussions, we will delve into how our physical experiences can influence our writing. We will practice accessing more stillness, clarity, and ease in our writing, and come away with new drafts and fresh ideas.
Whether you're a seasoned writer or just starting out, this event is for anyone interested in tapping into the power of embodiment in community. It bridges 17 years of my practice in the disciplines of yoga & mindfulness, and my work as a creative writing professor and poet.
There are 4 sessions in total. Although the practice/principles of Embodied Writing will be the same, each session is designed around a different theme.
May 23: Sensory engagement
May 30: Stillness, clarity, spaciousness
June 6: Voice and persona
June 20: Movement in time and place
Come to one or come to all! Recordings will be available incase you miss a session.
Tip: If you're coming to multiple sessions, you can select the number on a single cart item (for eg: add 4 of the 23 May tickets to your cart and check out) -- that way you won't need to pay the additional taxes multiple times.
