Arts Mission Oak Cliff

Do you ever have a concept for a piece, and then find yourself stuck, not knowing where to start? This movement lab invites local dancers and movers to nourish their creative practice alongside a community of fellow makers.This workshop is designed to help you generate rich, meaningful movement as we discover tools to help you break down large ideas into workable pieces, expand your imagination for interpretation, and challenge your comfort zone through limitation. The session will take us from story sharing to embodied exploration and movement invention, and then finally into a collaborative time of choreography. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer wanting to find your unique voice as a choreographer or a theater maker wanting to grow in embodied storytelling, there is space for you here!
