About this event

EMBODIED ALTARS is an open level contemporary dance class. This class offers newer dancers an entry point to contemporary dance and seasoned dancers an opportunity to go further into exploration and intention setting. ALL ARE WELCOME.

EMBODIED ALTARS is a class designed by Indigenous Mexican-American artist Alicia Mullikin. It is an open level contemporary dance class that weaves both ancient and contemporary movement modalities and encourages authentic exploration and storytelling. The class utilizes Indigenous principles within movement as a way to practice gratitude, honor the land, and recognize our ancestors. It brings Indigenous people and histories into the present and provides a powerful statement of identity and radical reclamation. The class is designed for Indigenous and non-indigenous peoples and welcomes all who are interested in movement, intention setting, and a discovery of their own stories.

Class Time: Mondays, 6:30-8PM

This class is a mirrorless class with the intention to create an inclusive, safe, communal space to share and explore movement and play within emotionally, physical, and spiritual emnodiment in an open capacity to witness and be witnessed as our most authentic selves.
