About this event

The Elkin Big Band featuring Teresa Jasper on vocals will perform a program featuring many of the legends of American jazz - Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Duke Ellington, Quincy Jones, Chick Corea, and Freddie Hubbard just to name a few. This is an uptempo, wide-open show with a host of the absolute foundational jazz classics spanning 50 years.

The Elkin Big Band is an 18-piece jazz orchestra from Elkin, NC. They play big band jazz reminiscent of Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Count Basie, and Stan Kenton. Their repertoire includes more than 150 jazz classics. Since 1982, the Elkin Big Band has been bringing big band jazz to the Yadkin River Valley and surrounding communities. They are the only home grown big band in northwest North Carolina and like to think of themselves as, "The best small town big band in America!"
