In coordination with the Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain, Lost City presents a reading and discussion with Spanish author Elizabeth Duval.
Born in 2000, Elizabeth Duval has become one of the best-known media voices of her generation. A post-marxist and transgender writer and philosopher, Duval writes poetry, narratives, theatre and essays. Her literary career took off in 2018 with her debut in the anthology Cuadernos de Medusa. In 2019, she contributed to queer narrative in "Asalto a Oz" and continued her rise with her first poetry collection Excepción and the novel Reina in 2020. Her incisive essay "Después de lo trans" (2021) explored transgender issues from critical and political angles, earning acclaim both in Spain and internationally. Translated into English and German, her work was praised by prestigious outlets such as the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and The Irish Times. She also is a prominent activist and spokesperson for the LGBTQ+ community, being awarded and holding relevant positions in unions and political coalitions. Her impact extends beyond literature, participating in television programs and contributing to current political debates.
