Welcome to Elemental Nourishment: Summer Solstice Circle!

Come join us for a depthy and enlivening gathering in nature at Ernest E. Debs Regional Park on Sun June 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM PDT. Let's recognize the longest day of the year with a circle of like-minded individuals, connecting with the elements and seasons, and leaning into Earth's wisdom.

Immerse yourself in the beauty of the park as we honor the summer solstice with:

  • Poetry
  • Mindfulness practices
  • Nature connection
  • Nourishing chef prepared food
  • Practices from the "spiral" from The Work that Reconnects
Reflecting on gratitude, honoring our pain, seeing with new and ancient eyes, and going forth - fruiting motivation, solidarity, and collective resilience!

We will process grief and the weight we each carry with water and stone, lean into love and growth with plants and Earth, and ignite action and purpose with fire.

Come as you are.
Reinvigorate your courage to act on behalf of all life.
Experience the gifts of nature's nourishment in this special gathering.

Guided by Kara London, LMFT and Ecotherapist.

Featuring Mexican inspired cuisine from Earth Steward and Chef Paige Murtaugh.

What is the Work that Reconnects and how will it shape our time together?

Weaving the framework and practices from the Work that Reconnects model established by Joanna Macy, we will seek to co-create a space to:

  • Build relationship with Earth and all life
  • Ground and emplace us
  • Reconnect with the elements within us
  • Invite us to explore what we love, as an anchor
  • Cultivate community
  • Instill empowerment and solidarity

Investment:

  • This is a sliding fee scale event with tickets ranging from $65 to $95.
  • Please pay according to what you are able to afford.
  • Each tier ($85-$95, $75-85, $65-$75) roughly corresponds to the Green Bottle sliding scale rubric below.
  • Please contact me directly if the fee would create an extreme obstacle to your attendance
  • 10% of the profits will benefit the Acjachemen Tongva Land Conservancy

Frequently asked questions

Anything I need to bring?

Please plan to bring a folding chair, blanket, prop, or yoga mat to sit on. Also, journaling material and a writing implement will be needed.

What can I expect from the day?

We will gather at the park near a picnic area along the hillside, in a group of no more than 16 people. There will be times of gathering in circle, times for movement and exploration on the land, and you will be provided with a delicious lunch at the midway point.

What are some of the potential benefits?

Time in nature has proven physiological, psychological, and emotional benefits. When we have spaces to share the gratitude we have for this life, and the grief that we hold for our individual and collective suffering, this relieves isolation, enlivens us, and helps us to turn towards our callings.

Is this an inclusive event?

We welcome people of all ethnicities, orientations, and genders, including those identifying as BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and neurodiverse individuals.

Is this an ability-diverse event?

We welcome those who are ability diverse, but please note that during a portion of the event, we will take a short hike up the hillside. This is a relatively gradual grade, but the terrain is somewhat uneven. This portion is inaccessible by wheelchair. Please contact me if you have questions.

Is there an age limit?

Yes, this event is open to those 18 and older.

Is there a fee for parking/entry?

No, parking is free.

What is your refund policy like?

Full refunds will be granted up to 48 hours in advance of the event day.

What is the suggested attire for the day?

Please dress according to the weather and your comfort. Wear comfortable clothes that allow movement and shoes which you'll be comfortable hiking in. You may want to bring a hat, sunscreen, and a personal water bottle (water available for refill).

Is there more I should know about the event?

More details of what to expect will be sent in the days leading up to the event. If you have any specific concerns, please contact me directly at events at three feathers therapy dot org.
