About this event

  • 2 hours

Voter turnout in 2023 in WA was the lowest in state history, with Pierce County in the bottom 10 counties. Since the establishment of Pierce County, only three people of color have ever been elected to the county council. Something needs to be done.

Join elected leaders, activists, and policy makers from around Pierce County as we take an analytical deep dive into our antiquated electoral system. Does it serve the interests of a multi-racial democracy? How can we do better? There is too much at stake in 2024 to not boldly envision better and more equitable voting systems.

WA Community Alliance, WA for Equitable Representation, FairVote WA, Fix Democracy First, Washington Bus, and Washington Conservation Action invite you to join us for an upcoming event, Electoral Justice in Pierce County. This event will include the release of a new video produced by WA for Equitable Representation, a review of the Electoral Justice Dashboard Pierce County, and a fun activity to learn more about electoral systems. Refreshments will be provided!
