The Midwest Elderberry Cooperative (MEC) is a grower-owned cooperative focused on expanding domestic elderberry production and marketing. MEC is partnering with Fountain Ark Farms in Delano to host a educational field day for growers of all experience levels to learn more about this important berry crop, connect with other growers, and access resources to make decisions about production, harvesting, processing, and marketing.
Registration, coffee and conversation will start at 8:00 AM, event presentations will begin at 8:30 AM.
Hosted at Fountain Ark Farms in Delano, Minnesota, the workshop will include presentations on elderberry production, marketing and commercialization efforts. New and experienced growers, industry partners and University researchers will all be on-hand to share resources and make connections.
Following a lunch provided by a local restaurant, attendees will tour Fountain Ark Farms with owner/manager, Jon Jobes and his business partner, Brian Weber. Jobes and Weber will share their innovative production system and their vision for scaling elderberry production.
Interested attendees are encouraged to stay after the tour for networking and connection.
