This first of its kind in Charleston 3 part art-making series will introduce you to the concept of El Duende or “muse from the shadows.” You will be gently guided through this transformative process by fellow seeker and board certified art therapist Dena Ewing. Each session will explore different materials including paint, collage and mixed media methods to develop layers of expression and personal insight. Bring a writing journal and a curious mind to this series and you will leave with an art-making practice that you can revisit again and again to build intuition, unearth illuminating insights and discover personal truths.
What to expect:
5:30-5:50pm Introductions and description of El Duende process
5:50-6pm Distribution of materials
6pm-6:50pm Creating from the Shadows!
6:50-7pm Clean up
7pm-7:30pm Processing and sharing of experience
What to bring:
- Blanket, something comfortable to sit on
- Writing journal and pen/pencil
- Wear comfortable yet unprecious clothing (just in case!)
- Any preferred art materials
What will be provided:
- Paper
- Paint, collage and/or mixed media materials
- Cardboard easels
- Paintbrushes, glue, scissors
- Pallettes
