This online workshop is your chance to enhance your teaching skills in a fun and interactive way. Over two half-day sessions, it will show you how to figure out who your learners actually are, why people need different kinds of lessons at different stages of their development, how to tell if people are actually learning and whether you're overloading your learners, and how to deliver lessons both in person and online. The instructor, Greg Wilson, was the co-founder and first Executive Director of Software Carpentry, and has taught this material to hundreds of people over more than a decade.Please attend both sessions and select both Day 1 and Day 2 tickets.Day 1 (Dec 12, 2024) 9 AM - 12:30 PM PSTDay 2 (Dec 13, 2024) 9 AM - 12:30 PM PSTFAQ<ul><li>How large will the workshop be? Up to 20 people. Any more than that, and people become observers rather than participants.</li><li>How much does this cost? It's free, but we ask participants to donate the cost of dinner for two to a local shelter or foodbank.</li><li>Who is the intended audience? Participants at past workshops have included programmers, product managers, designers, data scientists, support staff, and others.</li><li>Where does the material come from? The workshop is a shortened and updated version of material originally developed for the Carpentries' instructor training program.</li></ul>
