Maison Française

This event is open only to those with a CUID Yaël Braun-Pivet, a politician and committed lawyer, was born on December 7, 1970 in Nancy in the Meurthe-et-Moselle Department of France. A mother of 5, Yaël Braun-Pivet lived in Taiwan, Portugal, and Japan for several years before returning to France and becoming involved in the “Restos du Coeur”, a national food pantry program. She was elected MP for the Yvelines Department in June 2017. The same year, she was elected Chair of the Law Standing Committee in the National Assembly and was Rapporteur of the bill for confidence in political life. She was appointed Minister of Overseas France in May 2022 and in June of that year became President of the National Assembly, thus becoming the first woman in history to reach the “Perchoir” (Speaker of the House).
