Let’s change education, together. All we need are the right tools, channels and know-how. Who should attend? Eduhack seeks to involve people from different backgrounds and sectors to find better and more impactful solutions. Anyone working in any kind of educational capacity is invited to attend. In this session, Dr. Lyons will outline the pedagogical rationale for hackathons as fora for experiential and collaborative learning. In this workshop, Dr. Lyons will provide tools for maximising the learning and impact of hackathons in multiple domains.14.00: Closing commentsDr. Yvonne Crotty, Director, Centre for Workplace Learning, Dublin City University 14.10: Lunch, DCU All Hallows RestaurantSpeakers <ul><li>Dr. Yvonne Crotty is an Associate Professor in the School of STEM Education, Innovation and Global Studies at Dublin City University and is Co-Director of the International Centre for Innovation and Workplace Learning. Yvonne is former Music teacher and is interested in marrying the head and the heart in the academy to effect a much needed creative approach to education. She chairs the Masters in Education and Training Management (eLearning) programme and supervises postgraduate students in creating multimedia and online resources for use in the workplace. She coordinates and teaches on the Teaching Methodologies module for Initial Teacher Educators. Yvonne has been engaged in European projects for the past decade - current projects include EU KLabs4Kids and Eduhack projects. She is on the advisory board of Community Creating Jobs and MEDEA. </li></ul><ul><li>Ray Goggins served in the Irish Army for 26 years, including 17 years in the Army Ranger wing as a Special Forces operator. More recently, he became known for his appearance as the Chief Instructor on RTE’s Special Forces Ultimate Hell Week and as the bestselling author of his debut book; Ranger 22. Ray is also the director of training and leadership company, Coreskill Training where he’s passionate about helping and encouraging people to become the very best version of themselves.</li></ul><ul><li>Dr. Roisin Lyons is a lecturer of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Kemmy Business School, University of Limerick. She has lectured for over 10 years, in Ireland and internationally, including a number of years in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Her research focuses on innovation (open source innovation, entrepreneurial tendency development), social and sustainable enterprise, and pedagogy (hackathons, gamification, experiential activities for large-class contexts). She has published in journals such as International Entrepreneurship Management Journal, IJEBR, Journal of Management Education, and Small Business Economics. Rosin is very engaged in community entrepreneurship initiatives and industry collaborations (StartupWeekDublin, co-founder of OSV/OSVX Covid response, Enactus, Young Scientist).
