Her love of words came a few years later, when a slow start with reading turned into a lifelong hunger for books, thanks to Gary Paulsen's Hatchet and a fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. Andeman, who helped her discover the power and beauty of words — others' and her own. Jaimi went on to teach rhetoric and composition at the college level and high school English for a decade. She then joined Wildwood School, where she is now in her tenth year, first in the upper school, then as Director of Middle School, and now as Associate Head of School, where her favorite part of any day is watching Wildwood teachers become someone's Mrs. Andeman.
