About this event

  • 2 hours

Location: Lake Ballinger Park

Lake Ballinger straddles the border between Edmonds and Mountlake Terrace. We're going to meet in the main lakefront area near the Lake Ballinger Fishing Pier. If summer decides to take off early, feel free to bring a paddleboard/kayak/inner tube and let us know how nature journaling feels from the water :)

Accessibility:

The parking area is paved and the area is relatively flat, but it requires navigating over grassy areas. There are a few benches. Restrooms are available. If the parking area near the fishing pier is full, consider parking at "Ballinger Park" (in Google Maps) and then coming over across the grass or on the sidewalk.

About Edmonds Nature Journal Club:

We meet every first Sunday of the month. All ages welcome. The meetup is rain or shine, but will be canceled in the event of heavy winds or extreme weather conditions that make travel dangerous (for example, snowy unplowed roads.) In case of those events, you are welcome to journal at home and share your observations with the group!

Bring your nature journaling tools of choice and whatever you need to stay comfortable in the weather conditions—make sure you can carry them short distances. (You also have to option of observing and journaling from your car!) We'll start with a brief hello (15-20 minutes), then disperse to the location of our choice. We'll also pick a spot to return to and to share observations.
