About this event

  • 2 hours

Location:

Brackett's Landing North and beyond

We've got a low-ish tide (+1.92 feet at 9:42 a.m.)--so let's use it to explore the waterfront!

Meet at Brackett's Landing North near the bathrooms/whale statue. We'll see what's out and about. You can also wander to Brackett's Landing South and Olympic Beach for more tide pool exploration. This is also a great place to bring binoculars to look at seabirds and seals that like to lounge on floating platforms.

Accessibility:

There are paved sidewalks at both Brackett's Landing North and Brackett's Landing South, and a sidewalk and pier at Olympic Beach. There are public restrooms at Brackett's Landing North and at Olympic Beach. If the parking lot at Brackett's Landing North is full, I recommend parking on Sunset Avenue or one of the intersecting side streets and making your way down to the waterfront.

About Edmonds Nature Journal Club:

We meet every first Sunday of the month. All ages welcome. The meetup is rain or shine, but will be canceled in the event of heavy winds or extreme weather conditions that make travel dangerous (for example, snowy unplowed roads.) In case of those events, you are welcome to journal at home and share your observations with the group!

Bring your nature journaling tools of choice and whatever you need to stay comfortable in the weather conditions—make sure you can carry them short distances. (You also have to option of observing and journaling from your car!) We'll start with a brief hello (15-20 minutes), then disperse to the location of our choice. We'll also pick a spot to return to and to share observations.
