The program will include:

  • A presentation by Dr. Medina about youth substance use trends he is seeing in his pediatric practice and provide parents with the language they can use to start conversations with their children.
  • Panel discussion and Q&A with Dr. Medina, Tamatha Bibbo, Principal at Pollard Middle School, Sara Shine, Director of Needham Youth and Family Services, and a Needham High School SALSA* student.

*Students Advocating Life without Substance Abuse, a student-led school health and wellness club

Dr. Safdar Medina, MD, is the Pediatric Director at Tri-River Health Center in Uxbridge, MA, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at UMass Chan Medical School, and School Physician for the Northborough/Southborough School District. Dr. Medina treats young people navigating mental health and addiction.
