Edge4Vets at NY Airports - May 22, 2024

WELCOME to Edge4Vets at NY Airports!

Edge4Vets prepares military service personnel, including veterans, transitioning active duty, National Guard, Reservists and spouses, for jobs in all industries - May 22's session will focus on aviation.

The workshop will be conducted on May 22 from 9:30am to 3pm by the Human Resiliency Institute at Fordham University in the Gabelli School of Business and will be held at Vaughn College, 86-01 23RD AVE, FLUSHING, NEW YORK 11369, which is across from LGA.

This is ideal for veterans living in communities surrounding JFK and LGA who want good jobs at JFK and LGA that can lead to aviation careers.

This Free in-person workshop will help you translate your military strengths into "tools" for success, then get connected to decision-makers at our aviation partners.

The workshop is offered in collaboration with the NYC Dept of Veterans' Services and the NY aviation industry, led by the JFK Cargo Association, KAAMCO and several leadership companies.

ASAK Solutions, a veteran owned company at JFK, has stepped up and is joining with World Wide Flight Services and Corporate Loss Prevention Associates to support our effort to launch this aviation employment effort.

THREE WAYS Edge4Vets provides you with "in person" support:

1. On May 22 we'll introduce you to aviation business leaders and HR reps (decision makers from our aviation partners) who will work with you in small-groups. They'll help you identify your strengths from the military, including Values and Skills as we teach you how to translate your military strengths for civilian success - and get you started on creating a personal PLAN4SUCCESS for an "edge" to get hired.

2. Following the workshop we'll give you access to our Edge4Vets online course for those who wish to take their strengths-translation preparation to the next level. Through a series of short videos and exercises, the online course will guide you to refine your PLAN and put it into final form before you submit it to earn your Edge4Vets Certificate.

3. Also, this can be very valuable for you: we'll give you a list of the HR reps from our partner companies and connect you to our community partners, such as Council for Aviation Opportunity and NYC SBS/Workforce 1 for follow up support. You'll be able to reach out to them for help to MATCH your skills and interests from your PLAN4SUCCESS and prep for interviews.

All of this is designed to put you on a pathway to success in civilian life - with a focus at this May workshop on aviation.
