About this event

  • 4 hours

Curated by the talented Brian David and styled by Izzazu Salon, Spa & Blowout Bar, the annual Ecolution Fashion Gala will be held at the breathtaking Carnegie Museum of Art on the evening of Wednesday, June 5, 2024.

Experience an eco-fashion show and sustainability gala showcasing hand-crafted designs by local artists, who skillfully use reused and recycled materials. Ecolution invites designers to create couture fashion through sustainable, recyclable, and organic materials, addressing the pressing environmental issues our planet faces. There will be live music and performances, herbaceous cocktails, and plant-forward hor dourves.

This much-anticipated eco-fashion show and sustainability gala features models from Docherty Model and Talent Agency who grace the runway, donning hand-crafted fashion designs that local artists design and create utilizing reused and recycled materials.

Don't miss a special dance performance by local artist Pearlann Porter, and join us in honoring Richard Parsakian with the third annual Model Citizen award.

From Music Hall Red Velvet Chairs to Red Velvet Couture Runway

From the iconic red velvet chairs of the Carnegie Music Hall to the red velvet couture runway - witness the incredible transformation by Brian David at this year’s Ecolution Fashion Gala. Generously donated by Michael Volpatt from Volpatt Construction, the red velvet fabric will be recycled to create a one-of-a-kind piece for the show.

Honoring Richard Parsakian: A True Patron of Arts, Music, and Fashion

Join us in recognizing the remarkable contributions of Richard Parsakian, former curator of the Ecolution Fashion Gala and a true visionary in the realms of Sustainability, Arts, Music, Dance, Fashion, and LGBTQ Representation in Pittsburgh’s cultural landscape.

We will be awarding Richard with the third annual Ecolution Model Citizen Award at next year’s event as we celebrate his unwavering commitment to creativity and sustainability.

He elevated the importance of Ecolution in 2023 when he commissioned MacArthur “Genius” Award-winning choreographer and Pittsburgh native, Kyle Abraham to create a world premiere dance work for the evening.

This event also marks the occasion to present our annual Model Citizen Sustainability Award, applauding those who champion eco-conscious living.
