About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Eco Yoga maintains traditions of hatha yoga with a sequence of poses inspired by the earth: its plants, animals, and elements. It is a blend of mindfulness meditations and intentional movements to deepen the connection you have with yourself, your community, and the environment. When you practice mindfulness on the mat, you are better prepared to practice mindfulness in your everyday life.

Yoga is rooted in the understanding that everything is interconnected, so by integrating principals of environmental awareness with mindfulness and community meditation, you will contribute to positive changes in yourself and in the world. Through Eco Yoga — spending time offline, outdoors, moving your body — you will feel the benefits of reduced stress, improved physical health, community love, and a bond with the environment. You will feel more connected to the elements as your breath becomes the wind, flowing freely like water, igniting the fire within, and grounding into the Earth. Come cultivate peace!

Christina Leonhardt is a certified yoga instructor, urban planner, and leads Eco Yoga to help you strengthen your connections with the environment. She studies how people relate to the environment and knows that we thrive when we have intentional relationships with nature. Find her on Instagram @Christina.lionheart
