ECO Blitz

SELCE is working partnership with Lewisham Council and Retrofit Works – a co-operative of high quality contractors – to deliver the ECO project. We are working to find households who are most in need of energy efficiency support and provide them with support and funding opportunities.There’s a huge need for this scheme – 1 in 10 of the households in Lewisham are unable to afford to stay warm and well. Aging heating systems and poorly insulated homes are a large part of the problem. This scheme provides funding to improve the energy efficiency of homes to help residents save money and keep warm.

Want to do something practical about climate change and fuel poverty? Want to meet and network with local people that understand that you can't tackle climate change without addressing fuel poverty. Come along to our ECO Blitz volunteering day. Saturday 2nd February 2019 10 - 4 pm in Lewisham (Catford and Rushey Green) You'll be going out into neighbourhoods full of energy inefficient homes and fuel poor householders. You'll be talking to householders and helping them to access grant-funded energy efficiency measures such as loft, cavity wall or underfloor insulation. The day will begin with some learning about energy efficiency and fuel poverty and end with us finding out your experiences. They'll be lunch and lots of time to get to know other community energy activists We need YOU to come along and to be part of the Community Energy revolution. Be part of something that can make a real difference to people’s lives

The day will be as follows:
10am - arrival and welcome. Tea / coffee etc
10.15 - Introduction to day. Find out about energy efficiency, fuel poverty climate change and what you'll be doing on the day
11am - 1pm - doorknocking in teams of two people.
1 - 2pm - lunch and catch up
2 - 3.30pm - doorknocking
3.30 - 4pm - summary, successes, thanks!
