Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

The sun will (almost) disappear over Augusta on August 21 during this year's much-awaited solar eclipse, and we'll have one of the best views of the eclipse in the city during our FREE EclipseWatch event. Attendees will receive FREE pairs of solar eclipse glasses and enjoy sun-baked s'mores while they watch the moon pass over the sun. There will be special astronomy-related arts and crafts and science activities as well. This family-friendly event is suitable for school-age children, teens, and adults. Children and youth under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Please note that you must arrive by 2:15 pm or your glasses and seat will become available for others who are interested but did not get a ticket in time. Due to the special nature of this event, we want to avoid having empty seats due to people who registered but did not show.

FAQs

Are you giving out eclipse glasses?
We will give out eclipse glasses to attendees of this event only.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Yes--either bring your printed ticket or show us your ticket on your phone.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
No, but we only need the name of one adult (parent or guardian if you are bringing children) who attends.

If I arrive late, will I be able to get in?
As long as you arrive by 2:15 pm, you will be able to get in. After 2:15 pm, we will offer your glasses and seat to others who are interested but did not get a ticket in time.

Can children/youth come?
School-age children under the age of 17 are more than welcome, but they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
