THE ENSEMBLE

EchoNova’s mission is to reframe the way the listener and the performer perceive the string ensemble. By re-contextualizing the sounds of modern instruments and Baroque instruments with gut strings, the listener will go on a sonic journey as the performers accentuate and highlight the unique beauty of both types of instruments and repertoire.

Founding Members:

Eric R. Stewart, conductor

Eric has collaborated with artists including the Talea Ensemble, the Argento Ensemble, the Cambridge Modern Orchestra, and members of the American String Quartet and the New York Philharmonic. His compositions have been premiered at festivals including June in Buffalo and the Aspen Music Festival.

Juliette Greer, violin

Juliette made her Weill Recital Hall debut with New York-based baroque ensemble Twelfth Night at Carnegie Hall in May 2024, and performs frequently with Juilliard 415 and Trinity Wall Street Church Baroque Orchestra. Juliette graduated from New England Conservatory, Carnegie Mellon University, and The Juilliard School.

Jessica Meyer, viola

With playing that is “fierce and lyrical”, Jessica Meyer is a violist who is known for her expressive “bravura playing” (The Strad). At home with many different styles of music and an ardent collaborator, Jessica can regularly be seen premiering her chamber works, performing on Baroque viola, improvising with jazz musicians, or collaborating with other composer-performers.

EchoNova would like to thank Saint Peter's Church and Susan Barbash for their generosity and the Long Island Festival Orchestra for their fiscal sponsorship.
