East Side shutdown brainstorm workshops
The MTA announced that all stops along the L train—from Bedford Avenue in Williamsburg to 8th Avenue in
Manhattan—will be shut down for repairs in early 2019. With that kind of head start, we have time to prepare for
this closure. That’s why my office, the MTA and DOT and other Manhattan elected officials will host two public
workshops to allow those impacted by the L train shutdown—especially small business owners, residents of the
14th street area, and people with disabilities—to contribute input into mitigation plans. We can use these workshops to make the best out of a bad situation by brainstorming needed improvements to the 14th street corridor.
