About this event

Earth Day and Annual Meeting: Communities Creating a Cleaner World

UNA-Westchesster's annual meeting is dedicated to celebrating Earth Day and fostering a sense of community engagement in creating a cleaner world. The event will feature a keynote by Kale Roberts, Deputy Director, ICLEI USA, who coordinates local Climate Action efforts with the United Nations Climate and Biodiversity Conventions, followed by a panel discussion with Mary Lambert, a representative of the Hudson Valley Regional Council and the Mayors of Hastings on Hudson and New Rochelle, who will highlight their commendable efforts and participation within the State of New York's Climate Smart Communities (CSC) program. The program will focus on SDG 13: Climate Action, with a theme of “Communities Creating a Cleaner World”. We will invite UNA members, especially our youth members, state and local leaders, and the general public to participate. Our group of Young Professionals will be organizing the program. The program will be followed by a Q and A, a short annual meeting and a networking reception with refreshments. It is free and open to the public.

Join us at the Yonkers Riverfront Public Library for a day filled with passionate work on environmental conservation and climate action. Learn about sustainable practices, participate in an inspiring discussion, and connect with local organizations dedicated to creating a cleaner world. Let's come together to celebrate Earth Day and make a positive impact on our planet!
