The innermost layer of the social-ecological model represents ways that we can support
individual families in protecting their children and helping them thrive. The conversation
guides were created to help you engage parents and caregivers in personalized,
constructive conversations about how the protective factors contribute to positive outcomes for
families. Each guide targets one of the six factors:
■ Nurturing and Attachment: “We love each other” May 16
■ Knowledge of Parenting: “I can choose what works best for my children” June 27
■ Parental Resilience: “I deserve self-care” July 18
■ Social Connections: “We are connected” August 15
■ Concrete Support for Families: “I can find help for my family” September 19
■ Social/Emotional Competence: “I help my child learn social skills” October 17
