Dynamic Performance Pistol
This course is a dynamic 2-Day course tailored for intermediate and advanced shooters. Participants will be challenged both mentally and physically as they push past barriers in marksmanship, technical skill, and time management, all of which are essential phases of defensive shooting. This intensive course offers an opportunity to shoot the “Dynamic Pistol Workout” drill, which pushes shooters to their limits and offers a chance to win a challenge coin. The overall goal of the course is to elevate shooters proficiency and confidence in a supportive and demanding learning environment.
This class is run from concealment and participants are expected to work from concealment with a carry system that would be used in an everyday carry role. The lone exception is for active law enforcement/military.
Student Prerequisites
*This is not a beginner course. Minimum requirements for this course are an understanding of the Universal Firearms Safety Rules and the ability to safely draw the gun from concealment and safely holster the gun. This course is intended for experienced shooters. The ability to draw and fire 5 rounds into a 5" circle at 5 yards in 5 seconds or less is a good indication of readiness.
Equipment Requirements
Handgun. Must be a defensive handgun chambered in 9mm. Revolvers are allowed, but this class is set up to run around duty style semiautomatic firearms, therefore the use of a revolver will make this course very challenging to keep up with. Barrels must be at least 3.3 inches and no more than 5 inches. Let me know if you have any firearms related questions. Red Dot equipped pistols are very welcome. If running a pistol mounted optic, please ensure you have zeroed your optic and have a fresh battery (and spare) before arriving to class.
*A backup gun, either a duplicate of your gun or very similar, is highly recommended. It is not uncommon for even reputable guns to run into issues during high round count courses.
- Ammunition – At least 750 Rounds of factory ammo.
- Cleaning Kit for your Firearm
- Extra Magazines – At least 4 magazines.
- Magazine Pouch/Carrier (Minimum 2 singles or a double)
- Eye & Ear Protection (Electronic Hearing Protection Required)
- IWB/AIWB Holster (Fitted Kydex. No Serpa style, leather, or collapsible holsters allowed.)
- Range Bag
- Speed Loader (If Shooting a Revolver)
- Hat
- Close-toed Shoes
- * Bring a folding chair for the range.
*The minimum amount of ammo required is 750 rounds, which is enough to shoot the required drills and qualification twice. Time permitting, there will be a chance to run a couple of extra drills that are expendable to the lesson plan, but I intend to run them if we have time. If you are interested in running those drills, bring an extra 100 rounds and at least 10 rounds of your carry/duty ammo.
*If you were to need help or have any questions about the equipment requirements, please reach out to me ASAP.
