The Data Visualization Society is the host for the 2022 Information is Beautiful Awards! Join the Awards Ceremony for a whimsical evening celebration, and add on two days of talks and workshops to learn and leave inspired.

Intersections Workshops are a new programming stream for the Data Visualization Society, launching the week of the 2022 Information is Beautiful (IIB) Awards. The workshops span two days leading up to the <a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/information-is-beautiful-awards-ceremony-tickets-441572413977" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">2022 IIB Awards Ceremony</a>, to further the goal of celebrating excellence in data visualization and nurturing our community through learning experiences and an opportunity to put design skills into practice.Tuesday: Focus on LEARNINGAlways wanted to explore D3? Curious about RAWgraphs? Interested in scrollytelling in Flourish? Or maybe how to create physical data installations? Tuesday&#x27;s workshops are for you.Explore a tool or approach to creating data visualizations with hands-on practice recreating a chart from the IIB Awards Showcase. Register for one of our virtual or in-person (seats limited) sessions for an orientation to your tool of choice from an experienced practitioner. The day will close with a one hour live-streamed speed-sharing session where workshop leaders will share short talks highlighting some of the challenges and efficiencies of using their tool of choice. Learn about the differences between how data viz platforms think about and display data with a side by side comparison tackling the same design challenge.Workshops include: D3 + Svelte, Designing in R, Low code tools (RAWgraphs and Flourish), and Data Physicalization.Wednesday: Focus on INSPIRATION <a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/dvs-intersections-workshops-day-of-inspiration-wednesday-tickets-466139053457" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">(For Event Tickets, click here)</a>Get inspired and reflect on some of the challenges, opportunities, innovations, and more currently facing the data visualization field.Wednesday will feature a series of short talks with experts in the field exploring the state of our industry and a series of lightning talks about IIB Awards shortlisted works for 2022, featuring select shortlistees.O﻿ur featured speakers include Duncan Clark, CEO of Flourish and Data Visualization Lead at Canva and Dr. Brandeis Marshall, CEO at DataedX. After registering, you&#x27;ll receive additional logistics details over email.Recognizing that attendees may opt into different sessions most relevant to their interests, individual tickets are available for the Tuesday workshops and the Wednesday single-stream programming.
