Let me tell you a story:Your teammate or player is running after a ball or chasing down an opponent. You see them pull up, hop several times and grab at the back of their leg. Everyone on the field, the coach on the sidelines and the fans in the stands all know what it is, the dreaded hamstring strain. It will likely be weeks until the player will be able to play again, and when he does, all too frequently, it happens again and again and again the rest of the season. Often, when they finally get back to the field they aren't quite the same. They aren't able to run quite as fast, change direction as quickly and have the nagging fear of it happening again. Does this sound familiar? Have you had a teammate experience this? Have you experienced it?Hamstring injuries are a plague for athletes, they lead to lost playing time, decreased performance, and once they happen once, it is much more likely to happen again. In this workshop, we will be covering the key elements to help you build robust, durable hamstrings and keep them healthy all season long. We will demonstrate and practice key exercises that you can begin incorporating the next week to strengthen your hamstring and warm up before practices or games. We will also discuss key elements like how to manage your fatigue, how sprinting the correct amount each week can help you stay healthy, and a variety of other topics that can help you stay healthy this season.
