Drypoint Course

Explore the rich, tactile qualities of drypoint printmaking in this focused one-day course, ideal for beginners & printmaking enthusiasts.

This hands-on workshop introduces you to the fundamentals of creating beautifully detailed intaglio prints.

Throughout the day, you will learn how to draw directly onto plates using drypoint tools, creating expressive lines and textures. You’ll be guided through the inking and wiping process, and how to print your work using an etching press. The course will cover key techniques to achieve depth, contrast, and atmosphere in your prints.

With an emphasis on mark-making and personal expression, you’ll be encouraged to experiment with line, tone, and composition to develop your own imagery. By the end of the session, you will have produced a small edition of your own drypoint prints and gained a solid foundation to continue working independently.

All basic materials and equipment will be provided—just bring your ideas and clothes you don’t mind getting inky!
