About this event

  • 1 hour 45 minutes

Led by the Reentry Theater of Harlem, the drumming circle will invite participants to join a collaborative ritual wedded to share stories, thoughts and reflections related to mass-incarceration, homelessness, and the difficulties encountered upon ‘coming home’ after imprisonment or persecution.

BIO

Alex Anderson, Gregory Frederick, Joshua Lopez (Reentry Theater of Harlem) are leading members of the Reentry Theater of Harlem, an avant-garde theater by and for people who have lived experience in the U.S. criminal legal system. RTH utilizes theatrical rites of passage to confront and overcome the shame, stigma, and trauma of incarceration, empowering people’s transition from prison back to society.
