Established in 1919, Children’s Book Week is the longest-running national literacy initiative in the country. Every year, young people across the country participate by attending events at schools, libraries, bookstores, celebrating at home, and engaging with book creators both online and in person. The 2024 Children’s Book Week will take place during two dedicated weeks of celebration, May 6-12 and November 4-10!

Press pause on your worries and responsibilities - its time to Drop Everything and Read! Pop in after school with your little bestie, grab a snack, and read with us! This is a free come-and-go event to celebrate reading. All participants can partake in an after school snack special at the Alouette Bistro, and will receive a reading themed surprise!
Bring your own favorite book, or pick up a new one! Our fantastic booksellers are always available to give the perfect recommendation for your little reader.
**Please note that our children's area will be reserved for families and children to cozy up and read! This means the usual children's loft will not be open for play.
