Sustainable Solano is a grassroots, countywide movement uniting people through work that aims to serve the future of Solano County, to promote ecologically regenerative, economically and socially just communities in a world that works for everyone. We nurture initiatives for the good of the whole. Sustainable Solano has grown out of decades of dedicated community work that started with community gardens and has grown to include an emphasis on creating sustainable, regenerative environments, community capacity building, supporting local food systems and building youth leadership and workforce skills for a better future.

Join us June 25 for a presentation in Benicia on Drip Irrigation!Drip Irrigation can improve water efficiency, keep plants healthy and save time and effort of hand watering. Join Seth Wright, irrigation efficiency specialist and owner of Water Service Irrigation Co for a workshop on drip irrigation! This presentation will be geared towards beginners and the focus is providing an understanding of drip irrigation providing hands on experience in different layouts and applications and Q&A with an irrigation expertTopics to include:<ul><li>walking through irrigation steps from point of connection to flush valve</li><li>soil-types and infiltration rate</li><li>irrigation types and precipitation rates</li><li>other irrigation components</li><li>an example of raised bed irrigation and in-ground irrigation</li></ul>Seth Wright has been gardening and landscaping for over 20 years. His start was in the Puget Sound area of Washington State. He moved to the SF Bay Area in 2003. Working as a landscape maintenance foreman he noticed how much water was being wasted in the California landscape. Seth quickly started his own landscaping company and over the years his focus has shifted to irrigation efficiency. Seth Wright is now owner of Water Service, an irrigation company that offers design, build and management. The goal at Water Service is water conservation through irrigation efficiency. Seth is QWEL certified and has a proven track record for saving water in the California landscape.*$5-$20 suggested donation. As a small community-based organization every little bit helps. Your donations will help support our offerings to the community and give us the ability to add more virtual classes.
