Do I need to bring my own supplies?

For people who do not bring their own, there will be pens, paper, and some other art supplies to borrow on the evening.

I do stuff on canvas, do you have easels?

No, we will have tables and chairs, but do bring your own easel if you want to

Is it ok to draw and write digitally?

Yes, absolutely, feel free to bring your laptop, tablet or whatever works best for you.

Do I have to share my work?

No, you don't, but you can if you want to

Do i have to be social?

We ask everyone to respect eachother, so if you do not want to be social, that is absolutely ok.

I like the idea of this, but I do not know how to draw or write, can I still come?

Yes, absolutely. Although it is important to know, this is not a class as such. But you will be surrounded by people of various different skill levels, so we hope you will learn from eachother, and that our prompts and themes will help you improve your own work.

Overview

Relaxed creative evening at the Red Lion, Manningtree. draw and/or write, and socialise, no experience needed.

We have been trying something new for a few months. If you like the idea of what we are trying to do, please become part of it and help getting it off the ground.

Drink, Draw, Write is a relaxed monthly creative social at the Red Lion in Manningtree. Bring your sketchbook (or just yourself), have a drink, and spend a couple of hours drawing, writing, and unwinding in good company.

This is not a class as such, but an opportunity to mark some time in your diary to be creative.

Each session includes:
- A theme and prompts to get you going creatively (unless you already have your own project on the way, we will not hold you back)
- Inspirational reference material
- Pens, paper, and some other art supplies to borrow, but we encourage you to bring your own favorites. (yes, digital is fine too)
- An opportunity to share your work (only if you want to)

You will also be able to join the associated WhatsApp group, allowing you to communicate with other creatives.

Please prebook tickets; it really helps us plan and make sure we can run these events. We understand decisions can sometimes be made at the last minute, and we will do our best to accommodate you at the door.

Pre-booked tickets are £8 + Eventbrite booking fee,
