The Fabville Fabrication Laboratory is housed at Somerville High School in a newly designed Engineering classroom which offers a dynamic co-working space comprised of daytime high school classes and afterschool programs for students and adults. When you arrive at the main entrance of the school, you will be greeted by a door monitor and directed downstairs slightly to the right as you enter. At the bottom of the stairs hang a left and you will have found FabVille.In order to ensure the safety of students and community members alike, all users must fill out a membership form before visiting FabVille. Bring your student or government-issued ID with you when visiting FabVille. Thank you

Three day introduction  into drawing basics!

BeginnerFor aspiring designer, creatives and hobbyists alike! Learn the fundamentals of drawing and illustration during three two-hour exercise-based sessions at FabVille. The ability to draw allows you to better communicate your ideas and rough out ideas before starting to fabricate them. We will start with the basics of the basics; effective mark making and gradients. From there, we’ll dive into perspective drawing, lighting/shading, and how to depict textures. When we bring these various skills together, what started as simple marks on a page will evolve into realistic objects that interact with one another and tell a story.With these essentials in your toolkit, you’ll be able to create convincing 3D objects and scenes on 2D surfaces. Learn the fundamentals of drawing not only to improve your creative and designs skills, but to bring your inspiration to life!Day 1 (10/24) 6-8PM Day 2 (10/25) 6-8PM Day 3 (10/27) 6-8PM
