Different from D&D
Dragon Slayers is different from Dungeons and Dragons in a number of ways, but among them are:
- Simplified rule system. Dragon Slayers focuses on a narrower set of abilities and dice rolls to focus on narrative instead of mechanic complexity;
- Rolling a 4 or above is a success. The dice you use for each skill varies, but with any roll a 4 is a success;
- You can do 3 things per turn - move, and 2 actions listed on your character sheet. That's it. You cannot choose the same action twice;
- Movement happens in zones - things are either close, near, or far. There are no hexes or squares to measure or keep track of;
- Characters follow their own rules. Each character sheet follows their own unique mechanics instead of lengthy or cumbersome global mechanics
There are a couple more differences we will cover when playing the game. Dragon Slayers is generally easier to jump into for one-session experiences based on its simplified rule system.
