The Southwestern Ontario Black Entrepreneurship Network (SWOBEN), Empowerment Squared, and Draga Vision Care invite all community members to an open house to celebrate Black entrepreneurship and the acquisition of Draga Vision Care Inc. by Kuwona Inc. Tour the store, meet the team, enjoy food and drink, and connect with members and supporters of SWOBEN.

Founded by Dragica Gojkovic in 2017, Draga Vision Care provides visual health care to hundreds of clients across the Greater Hamilton Area and beyond. Kuwona Inc. is owned by Tapiwa Musewe, a registered Optician and internationally qualified Optometrist.

Draga Vision Care is now the first optometry practice owned by a Black female leader in Hamilton.

This acquisition process was supported by SWOBEN and Empowerment Squared. Since 2023, over 200 Black entrepreneurs have registered with the Network and advanced their businesses and concepts across the Greater Hamilton Area and Windsor-Essex.

If you would like to make an appointment at Draga Vision Care for your visual health care needs please contact info@dragavision.ca or (905) 560-9999

Empowerment Squared is building a world where everyone is empowered with the tools and skills to thrive and contribute to society. We do this by empowering newcomer, racialized and marginalized youth, families and communities in Canada and across the world to succeed through mentorship, access to post-secondary education, information literacy, sports and recreation, and skills development and entrepreneurship. In 2023, Empowerment Squared is celebrating 15 years of developing young leaders and building better communities, including assisting over 3000 newcomer youth and families with settling in Canada and giving back to their community, and building the transformational Liberian Learning Center in Paynesville, Liberia.
