DRAG KING REVOLT

Zombie Bazaar Panza Fusion is a queer based dance troupe that can be seen performing their Tejana Politica blend of dance nearly every week en los calles de San Anto. These Zombies will charm you with their panzas fuertes.Under thedirection of Giomara Bazaldua, a longtime student of dance. "Gio" has a cutting edge Panza Fusion style that blends tribal belly dance with other genres including ballet folklorico, cumbia, polka, drag, and fire dance.Zombie Bazaar uses Panza Fusion to bring awareness to issues like immigration the right of the LGBTQ, and womyn’s issues.It is this fusing of talent, creativity and homenaje a su cultura Xicana that led to the creation a duo called Zombie Bazaar in 2009 and eventually a troupe 11 womyn strong. These mujeres use eclectic and campy music to complement their high energy and creepy theatrics. Each of the Panzantes bring their own espiritu y alma to the group which is evident in their dance style.This group of amigxs, artistxs, visionaries, singers, vegans,activist, sculptors, writers, lovers, and fighters call themselves Zombies to get your attention and once they have it they will keep you spellbound with their captivating dances and powerful message of strength and unity.“We call ourselves Zombies because we love mother earth and it is the dead that enrich the soil to promote growth. We call ourselves Zombies because we will entrance your brain and senses with our hip and our message.”

The Drag King Revolt is an all drag king revue hosted by the Zombois of Zombie Bazaar. The night will be packed with hot drag kings putting on a show to raise funds for the P.E.A.C.E. Initiative. P.E.A.C.E Initiative’s mission is to educate the community about the extent, and often-deadly consequences of domestic violence and to respond effectively through collaborative efforts. The Drag King Revolt will be on Dec 3rd at 7:30 at the Jump-Start Performance Co. , tickets are $8 pre-sale or $10 at the door.
