Dr. Steve Peters - Horse Brain Science - New York
Join us for an incredible in-person event with the renowned Neuroscientist Dr. Steve Peters! Discover the fascinating world of horse brain science at Healing Rein Farm in New York. Dr. Peters, an expert in the field of neuroscience, will share his extensive knowledge and insights on how horses think and behave. This event is a must-attend for horse enthusiasts, trainers, and anyone curious about the inner workings of these majestic creatures.
Dr. Peters presents and simplifies the complexity of horse brain science for people who want to understand their horse's behavior and have a better relationship with their equine partners. Quite often, he collaborates in clinics and online education, offered both nationally and internationally, with other credible horsemen/women who strive for optimal quality of life for horses.
Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of your horse's nervous system and improve your communication and connection with your horse. Mark your calendars and get ready for an unforgettable experience!
"A deeper understanding, from quality information, will ultimately be what is best for the welfare of our horses."
Dr. Stephen Peters, a Neuroscientist specializing in brain functioning, presents twelve hours of classroom education, Friday-Sunday. This seminar includes a horse brain dissection, and an opportunity for participants to observe horses in the arena, as Dr. Peters applies what was learned in the classroom.
Dr. Peters did his practicum at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Internship at Danbury Hospital in Danbury Connecticut and Residency and two year Post Doctoral Fellowship at Hartford Hospital in the Departments of Neurorehabilitation, Neurology and Neurosurgery.
A Colorado Cowboy
Goes to New York
After a successful medical career in Utah, Dr. Peters, took an early retirement, and moved to Mancos, Colorado, to spend time researching and teaching horse brain science to interested horsemen/women. He had ideas of riding his horses, walking his dog Kippi, practicing his bass guitar, and reading alone by the fire, on cold winter days. That didn't last long as his journey began to pull him in a changing direction. When he met Michelle, and later married her, his herd of 3 horses and one dog, grew to 7 horses and 3 dogs. Meanwhile, he began receiving more requests for doing clinics, podcasts, zoom classes, and writing articles, both in the US and internationally. He began to collaborate with other professionals and his schedule grew. He is now busier than he was as a practicing doctor. Not only is he now in the process of using new technology to design and create continuing education, he's also building a team to assist him with making it possible for horse owners world wide to have access to his research. New books are being written, professional colaborations are forming, courses are being created, and the world of filming has opened to Dr. Peters. Exciting possibilities are in the making!

Colleen is a nurse, fire captain, paramedic, certified instructor, and she has an ability to help people feel safe, while discovering functional movement on and off the horse. We met her at Happy Dog Ranch, in Colorado. She was determined to get this information to her circle of influence on the East Coast. It has been an honor to work with her.
Lee is the project engineer, farm hand, medic, ring master, mechanic, plumber, cat herder, hay handler, horse husband, counselor, horse snuggler/scratcher and all around best human on the farm. He is at the end of the day, the person who made it and still makes it possible for Price Training Services to come to fruition and grow.

In June, the average high is 77 degrees and the low is 56. There are about 15 hours of daylight in June. Some would describe it as mildly cool, humid but cool. There is a 45% chance of rain on an average day. Dress in layers that can be added or removed. The arena area is covered.
Dr. Peters obtains the horse brains through a supplier of biological specimens and science education materials to universities and medical laboratories.
Class participants are encouraged to put on disposable gloves and handle the dissected brain. If a student does not want to actively be involved in this part of the class there will be no pressure to do so. It is a marvelous opportunity that most participants take part in.
